The beauty of our Canvas Utility Suit is that it's in fact the perfect blank canvas to style and make completely your own.
We teamed with Dallas-based creator @aaricanichole to show how easy it is to customize our suit to your liking with this easy afternoon project featuring RIT dye— available at your local craft store.
Our Oat Milk Utility Suit is the perfect base layer for a dye project like this, much like a piece of art, our suit is a blank slate ready to be transformed. We love this option you're longing for a color we haven't released yet, if you have lingering stains on your suit or just want a fun weekend project— the upcycling options are endless!
We love RIT dye because it's a non-toxic dye— all you need is a free afternoon, washing machine, a plastic container or stainless steel sink to get started! It's a fun and engaging way to breathe new life into your garments.
Once the suit is properly processed and dried, you can really see the new color come to life, a completely one-of-a-kind Noble suit. Aarica styles her "brand new" Utility Suit paired with her vintage chore jacket and cowboy boots, completing a fully sustainable look from head to toe.

Tell us more about your curated shop: Able Shoppe and how you turned your love for vintage into the brand it is today? Able Shoppe, a curated vintage concept shop, began as a passion project in college to fuel my vintage obsession and express my growing interest in sustainability. Since deciding to pursue the business full time 5 years ago it has grown with me as my taste has evolved. The Able Shoppe brand is an expression of my style and a space for me to play creatively. Travel, food, vintage homes, vintage coffee table books, nature and people are important sources of inspiration for me. I love what I do!
How do you like to play with both contemporary and vintage pieces in your wardrobe? I think mixing vintage and contemporary clothing pieces is a key to styling up an interesting outfit! I value investing in quality basics and layering vintage statement pieces to add my own flair. For example I love pairing my Noble waffle thermals with a chunky vintage knit sweater or a 1970s Penny Lane coat.
What does sustainability mean to you? I am always learning more about sustainability and discovering new practices to incorporate into my life and business. Currently, I am really motivated by eliminating as much food waste as possible from my cooking and grocery shopping. Additionally, I focus on sourcing quality fabrics and materials when curating collections for Able Shoppe. I’m learning a lot about natural materials and how the way they're produced plays a role in sustainability. That’s a big part of why it’s such a joy for me to re-contextualize existing garments and objects!
What are you listening to or reading right now that has you feeling inspired? I am a big podcast girly. Recently I have been listening to This American Life, The Frugal Friends, and Pre-Loved podcast. However, my reading habits go in waves and this year I feel inspired to listen to more audio books because that tends to work best for my current season of life. Right now I am reading “You are the one you’ve been waiting for” which is about internal family systems.
What are your goals for Able Shoppe as we move through 2024? I am feeling really jazzed about 2024! I have a sense there is going to be a big shift in my business and I am not quite sure what that looks like yet. In the meantime, I am pursuing new opportunities to find clarity in that arena. Currently I am running my business in Chicago and have a shop residency at The Sunday Standard and an outpost at The Center of Order and Experimentation. My hope is to grow as an artist and a business woman while creating more work/life balance. Cheers!

In college, I worked with synthetic dyes to create tie-dye pieces for myself, friends, and family. I stumbled across an article on indigenous people working with natural dyes in my now-husband's (then-boyfriend's) anthropology textbook and was immediately fascinated. I began experimenting with local dye plants, fell in love with the process and never looked back. From flowers to avocado pits you use countless different organic elements in your dye process— do you have a personal favorite? Choosing a favorite is always so difficult. Lately, I've developed a deep love for creating surface designs with leaves that grow locally to me. There's something almost meditative about carefully arranging them, envisioning how they'll imprint on the fabric, and anticipating the colors they will reveal.A big part of your process is focused around sustainability, do you have any advice for those who are aiming to create more sustainable habits in their day to day lives? I think it’s important to keep in mind that sustainable living varies from person to person, and it can be as straightforward as turning off lights in unoccupied rooms, bringing a reusable cup to your favorite coffee shop, unplugging devices when they're not in use, or even harvesting rainwater for your plants. These seemingly basic actions can have a significant impact. It's easy to overlook the fact that every purchase we make is essentially a vote for the world we want to see. Personally, I make an effort to support local farms, artisans, and small businesses as much as I can.
Fall is in the air, so what are you reading or listening to that have you feeling inspired through this season? As a work-at-home parent, finding moments to play is essential. It recharges me, lifts my spirits, and sparks my creativity. My version of play often involves indulging in a few precious minutes of fiction reading or listening (thank goodness for audio books). After spending so much time with scientific journals and texts for work, fiction feels like a little treat. Recently, I devoured "Happy Place" by Emily Henry. I love everything she writes! Currently, I'm immersed in "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue," by V. E. Schwab and it’s been a great read so far. GIVEAWAY!

As a San Diego based brand ourselves— we love uplifting local brands and businesses within our community.
Meet Kathleen Dore— owner and designer of Best Bud Floral— with her newly opened brick and mortar best known for her colorfully bold and whimsical arrangements.
Today on the blog we join Kath in her new space rocking her fav Noble Utility Suit, of course.Kath wearing our Utility Suit in Chocolate.
When did you first fall in love with floral design? I fell in love with floral design when I started working as a floral apprentice at Native Poppy about 6 years ago, I had great teachers there who I am still very close with! I remember the day design clicked for me after months and months and all of the techniques and "rules" of floral design made sense. I like that there is structure and tradition and there's also space to buck it. Like most things I started off really um...bad at it but once I got better it became so fun. Do you have a favorite flower variety or color scheme that you tend to gravitate towards in your designs? COLOR. I love color, any color. In a world of beige— I am such an advocate for colorful flowers. I try to direct my clients to move in a more colorful and lively palette if I can. In my experience, no one is ever upset by the result when you go with what the florist recommends. The flowers I am drawn to change seasonally, but I am a diehard for reds and oranges right now especially dahlias and marigolds.
Your very own brick & mortar shop just opened (yay!) How does it feel to now design in a space that's totally your own? It feels really good... like, really good. It's comfortable, it feels authentic to me and there's AC. I am very excited for things to come. What are you reading or listening to that has you feeling inspired as we enter the Fall season? Oh I am so excited for fall & winter, I absolutely love the holidays. Get ready for Christmas to become my personality come December. My music taste is kind of embarrassing but whatever LOL. I'm listening to a lot of Hootie and the Blowfish right now. I also watch TikTok instead of tv these days and I love Victoria Paris and her style. Her combinations are sometimes bonkers; the colors she picks, the styles she experiments with... I'm like huh? Then I see it come together and I get it. She makes a lot of decisions that feel like the opposite of what I would pick and I like that. I want to do more of that.

Tell us a little bit about how Parrott Paints started: Parrott Paints started in 2020 as a passion project and a self-love journey. My mission is to create art that inspires and resonates with people on a personal level, encouraging them to see the beauty that's around them every day. Starting Parrott Paints has been a constant celebration of embracing one's true self and the beauty that comes from accepting and pursuing one's passions.
You custom paint and personalize garments frequently, has that changed your relationship with your own personal style? Absolutely! Turning my closet into my canvas has seamlessly blurred the line between art and fashion. My personal style now holds memories, care & more color.
Where do you tend to draw your inspiration for your work? I draw my inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds me and the kindness that I see in everyday acts. I hope to inspire others to appreciate our natural world (& each other) in new and meaningful ways.
What's something you're reading or listening to that keeps your creative juices flowing? ‘A Gentle Reminder’ by Bianca Sparacino.

How has living in NYC so far shaped you and your work? I founded Saint Street Cakes in Boston and relocated to NYC a little bit over a year ago, which has been a huge change! I have been able to get more exposure to more diverse ingredients, befriend fellow bakers, and reach an even larger customer base; I feel like Saint Street has grown here in ways larger than I thought possible when I started selling cakes. I have also found a lovely community in New York– the friends I have met here have been such a heartwarming addition to the support system that drives me (and by extension, Saint Street). Morgan wearing our Paprika Waffle Tank & Oat Milk Chore Shorts.
What is your hope for the future for Saint Street Cakes? Currently, I am working a full-time job in the legal field while operating Saint Street Cakes by myself– it’s a handful! I feel so fulfilled in returning to the childhood dream of opening a bakery, and hope to be able to weave in all that I have learned and become passionate about along the way, like politics and grassroots causes. (Each month, I donate proceeds from cakes and online collaborations to different nonprofits fighting for a better world; some past donations include Black Health Matters, Sister Song, Send Chinatown Love, Lambda Legal, etc.).
One day, I hope to open a brick and mortar location that functions as a community space, while continuing giving back. While focusing on custom pre-ordered cakes, I also hope to sell cupcakes, cake-by-the-slice, coffee, etc. My dream Saint Street location includes lots of sunlight, some bistro tables, a little library, a stage in the corner for open mic nights or poetry readings, and a counter of beautiful cakes ready to be served! I want it to feel like a place people can gather.
What have you been reading or listening to lately that has you feeling inspired? I am always listening to music in the kitchen – I constantly add to my Saint Street Kitchen playlist. It's a mix of classic rock, jazz, blues, soul, and some more modern indie stuff– all curated for dancing in the kitchen. Check it out!

Need some colorful inspo for Summer? Meet San Diego based artist, Tiffany Lusteg — best known for her colorful abstract murals and large scale installations.
Today on the blog, we chat with Tiffany about her three dimensional work and how she's preparing for her soon-to-be Summer babe while her & her daughter Basil rock our 100% organic Utility Suits in her creative studio.
Tiffany working on her latest piece wearing our Paprika Utility Suit.
As a multi-faceted artist, tell us how you became involved in larger projects such as installations and murals? Was this always the direction you had in mind? My path to installation art and spatial design began by accident, really snowballing organically into what it is today. I stumbled upon weaving and the fiber arts in the thick of graduating college 9 years ago. Always being a creative individual that needed an outlet, I decided on a whim to order my first loom and dive rather blindly into the unknown. At that time, I really had no idea how deeply consumed or enamored I’d become with the craft, nor the influence it’d have on my life's path. I had shared a photo (on social media) of the first piece I made and someone had reached out, asking if they could purchase it. Many of my early days were spent creating fiber art and teaching weaving workshops in my community.
When my husband and I got married in 2017, I created a 6ft. x 6ft. tapestry (my largest piece at that time) for our wedding backdrop. Having been 'bitten' by the bug of working at the large scale, I really consider this the beginning of my journey into installation art. During that time, people began to commission wedding backdrops from me and with my husband Aaron's background in woodworking, we began to collaborate together creating works that were an indistinguishable blend of both my design and creative direction and his fabrication and craftsmanship.
With a little one and a new babe on the way (yay!), has motherhood taught you anything new you weren't expecting as you navigate through creative projects? That I don’t have it all figured out or know exactly where I’m headed with each new day (both in parenting and in my creative endeavors) and that is okay. I am mostly following what feels right in my bones, chasing my curiosities, and surrendering to wherever they lead me. Motherhood has made me a more flexible person and in learning to be gentle with my children, it’s shaped how gently I treat my own heart as well.
I’m learning to embrace the process and imperfections, rather than focusing on the polished finished product. Being a detail-oriented and self-critical individual, I’ve struggled to allow myself the space to make mistakes and only through motherhood discovered the capacity this way of thinking has to stifle and suffocate creativity. I’m continuously learning and re-learning to embrace the messier parts of life and find the beauty in our unique flaws.
I hope my children, too, learn to follow their own curiosities, protect their heart from comparison to others, and know that most fulfillment can be found along the journey rather than in the destination. We are all on this parallel path, a lifetime spent carving away at the same sculptural self portrait, always starting with more than we need and narrowing, narrowing. Tiffany and Basil wearing matching Oat Milk Utility Suits.
What's something that you're reading or listening to that has you feeling inspired? Depending on the day, I am listening to anything from Chaka Khan to Mazzy Star to get into a creative headspace. Most of the artists and writers I look to for inspiration are those from the past; Helen Frankenthaler, Georgia O'Keeffe, Eva Hesse, Sylvia Plath, Simone De Beauvoir, and Denise Levertov. In addition to visual art, I share a deep enthusiasm for reading and writing poetry, with a sizable admiration for the women who were one of few during their day, pioneering the way for female artists and writers today. I’m currently reading through some of Mary Oliver’s early poetry and Joan Didion’s Play It As It Lays.

This new collection is made entirely from our breathable & durable 100% GOTS Certified organic pima cotton designed for those easy Summer days ahead.Meet Denver based jeweler & metalsmith artist, Sheena of @sheenamarshalljewerly— known for her timeless & minimal jewelry and sustainable practices.
Today on the blog, we chat with Sheena about her niche craft and how her own ethical principles became a foundation for her business today:
Tell us a little bit about your story & how you started practicing the art of metalsmithing: From an early age, I was immersed in creativity thanks to my family. My dad, an engineer, and I crafted the most intricate school projects. My mother's artistic talent lay in creating nature-inspired oil paintings. I was even taught the art of stained glass by my grandpa.
How does your personal passion for sustainability bleed into this art? Did you find it difficult to shift these values into your business as well? All of my choices for the company are based on my beliefs and reflect who I am as an individual. By considering if each decision is in accordance with my values, the decision-making process is much simpler. The core values include:
Does your minimal and timeless jewelry reflect your own personal style at all? My approach to style is mirrored in the minimal and timeless jewelry I choose to invest in. Rather than selecting pieces based on fleeting trends, I opt for items from small batch, sustainable brands that will endure. This means I can wear the same pieces for work, play and beyond - always being sure to choose pieces that will remain staples in my wardrobe over time. When you aren't working in your studio, what are some of your favorite ways to stay connected to your creativity? Outside of working in my studio, I take delight in finding creative ways to stay connected. As an avid learner, I take every opportunity to get to know my customers in person at local markets. Additionally, I love meeting up with other small business owners at coffee shops to discuss business decisions. But when I'm not focused on work, I spend quality time with my family, exploring all the museums Denver has to offer. All these activities ultimately fuel my creativity.
What have you been reading or listening to lately that has you feeling inspired? Recently, I have been learning about stone setting with great enthusiasm. This was something I was interested in from the start, so I am taking this opportunity to practice the methods and find sustainable sources for diamonds for upcoming gold pieces. I'm excited to explore this path for my business and get to work on all the design ideas I have been brewing up! Keep an eye out!FOLLOW SHEENA HERE: WEBSITE & INSTAGRAM

Happy World Waffle Day from us to you! We love celebrating this International holiday; since the beginning of our brand Noble our Waffle Thermals have been such an important part of our collection.
We've teamed up with our brilliant friend @cornelia.craft to share her very own Oat Waffle Recipe to mark this special day.Noble is proud to be partnering with The New Denim Project to introduce Noble Upcycled Denim. As its name suggests, the project exists to use a new, different type of denim that’s better for you and better for the only planet we must call home. The secret? Circularity. A raw denim fabric in its purest form. Made from collecting and sorting post-industrial textile waste from local jean garment factories in Guatemala. The raw, natural materials are collected, ground into fiber, and spun into new yarns without the use of a single dye or chemical. Mere miles away, you’ll find Irma’s humble sew shop where this New Denim is transformed into our Noble upcycled denim creations that are one-hundred percent natural, compostable, and exist at the intersection of fashion and function.
Why upcycled denim? The denim industry is notorious for being an environmentally damaging industry. A single pair of non-organic cotton jeans may use upwards of 1,800 gallons of water. Additionally, most of the cotton used is grown with harmful fertilizers and pesticides which are bad for both us and the planet.
Over the past year and a half we have devoted our time hunting down the most environmentally friendly upcycled denim for our suits and we've been privleged to partner with a woman-run family owned factory to produce this limited collection.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your craft as a letterpress printer: I took my first letterpress class pretty late into my college life and was instantly hooked. The medium is so tactile and hands-on. I mix all the ink by hand and feed each sheet of paper through a press from the 1960s (one of the last models made before letterpress became obsolete) and it results in an impression that you can both see and feel. It’s such a special process that was once utilitarian and has now returned as an elevated art form.
You have an exhibit called 'the Sensation of Color' at the Bedford Gallery that just opened this month! What was the process like bringing your vision to life? I have never been so proud of something in my life. The Sensation of Color is a years worth of work from conception to creation and fills the 3500 square foot gallery beautifully. It features the largest iteration of The Friendship Project, an ongoing letterpress series of collected advice on friendship, that is displayed in a chromatic array spanning 48 feet. There are even some cute phones that recite pieces of advice when you pick up. However, anyone can call my Friendship Phone Line at anytime to experience this. 951-FRNDSHP. I’m also debuting a series of paintings, Chroma Clusters and Fuzzy Feelings, that capture a moment in time by translating feelings to colors. There are also two large scale site specific installations that are really fun. Color Corridor is a 75’ maze that encourages viewers to notice their internal shifts and moods as they travel through the color spectrum. Whereas Color Communion is a light and sound sensory experience (shoutout to my friend Chaz Bear of Toro y Moi for the soundscape!) that further allows viewers to be immersed in color. If you’re in the Bay Area go experience it! It’s on view until April 2, 2023. Bedford Gallery ~ 1601 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek, CA.Erin wearing our Dusty Rose Utility Suit in a size small.
How has your personal style (and love for wearing color) adapted over the years? What colors are you gravitating towards in 2023? I used to be a very colorful dresser in my teens, got into basics and neutrals in my 20s, and have re-emerged as a color lover in my 30s. I tend to let color lead as the main design element in my wardrobe and gravitate towards monochrome or bold color looks. I am perpetually drawn towards pinks and yellows. But also LOVE an all white look accented with color. I am curious about adding more prints and patterns into my wardrobe this year.
You've lived in the Bay Area for over a decade, what are your favorite things to do in your city? I’ve lived in both San Francisco and now the East Bay so I feel like I have a pretty full experience of living in the Bay. I love SF for its museums (SFMoma, Minnesota Street Projects, ICA SF), cute bars and delicious restaurants but also love Berkeley/Oakland for the sunshine, massive hiking/outdoor areas, and its slightly more relaxed lifestyle. What are you listening to or reading that have you feeling inspired lately? So much of the work that I created for The Sensation of Color is through my personal work in therapy. I am continually learning and meeting myself and seeing what expression and shape that may take. I started a daily walk practice last year with the encouragement of This Morning Walk podcast with Alex Elle and Libby Delana (who has walked everyday for over 10 years!) and use that time to connect with myself and be present. I am a pretty avid reader and somehow managed to read 25 books last year that range from fiction to wellness. I am currently reading How to do the Work by Dr. Nicole LaPera (@the.Holistic.Psychologist) which feels like a nice way to start the year.

EXPLORE OUR NOBLE UTILITY SUITS FOR ADULTS & KIDS
I’m a full time freelance illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. I mostly make digital artwork and love simple linework and colors. I do work ranging from editorial pieces in magazines, to art for brands in advertisements, to in person illustrations at live events.
I have a small office inside of my apartment, but I often work in other spaces around my place, or go sit at a coffee shop to switch it up. The best part about being freelance is being in charge of my schedule. So if there’s a day where I feel overwhelmed and need a break I can clean the house, or if I feel like switching it up and working at 8 pm, I can allow myself to do that. I try to create a schedule at the beginning of each week because it ends up being pretty different for me depending on what work I have planned for that month. I’d say typically I’ll wake up, work on projects until lunch, take a break and do some errands or other projects that aren’t work related to break up the day, then go back to art for a while. But it really varies on what projects I have going on at the current time!
I’ve always loved plants, so even from the early stages of my work, you can see a lot of them included in my pieces. Living in a big city inspires me with the amount of buildings and people. I’m always people-watching and taking walks around Brooklyn, so I tend to draw a lot of that city life. I’m drawn to bright simple colors but I tend to switch up which ones I use depending on the mood I’m in. It’s been fun to watch my art grow in concept and style over the years. I think it’s important to try new things, so I love when I notice that it looks different than it used to.
Definitely. Both fashion and illustration are forms of self expression. My relationship with clothing has become more curated over the years. I put a lot of thought into my artwork, so I try to do the same with fashion. Both are a process. Ethical brands are really important to me and it’s just as crucial for the piece of clothing to be made thoughtfully as it is to be cute and comfortable. I appreciate the care that goes into clothing and into the company to make it what it is.
I recently got back into reading this year and have read 79 books! Reading in general has been so inspiring to me. I find I gravitate toward light sci fi or dystopian books because they’re so different from our reality. It helps inspire me in a new way, appreciate our reality, and therefore inspire my artwork. Even though it’s not one specific book, it’s been eye opening to read so many different things. I get so in my head, and in my own world - it’s been really helpful for me to immerse myself in new stories.
Keep making and sharing your artwork! The more you share your art the more people will see it, and like it, and hire you for it. Also make artist friends. Reach out to artists you admire, buy them coffee and ask them questions. Everyone has a different story and it helps to learn bits and pieces about being an artist from different sources.
Stay tuned for a special giveaway coming this week ;-)

What have you learned about yourself in the process of telling Clover's story? It's just been a constant reminder to do just that— to be grateful for exactly what's happening right now and to notice the world around me and to be present and I just love that it's just as much a teachable story.
How do you balance motherhood alongside pursuing your creative endeavors? You know, with all of these people around I think it allows me to show up in the way I want to as a Mom. And it allows me to go when I have that moment where I'm like I really want to try this thing— I have all of these people, all of these dear friends, these women friends and my partner going "yeah you should try that!" And it makes me feel a little less afraid and gives me that boost of courage to do it. I have so much gratitude for those humans and there is no me balancing it on my own.
